Found this link on the edublogs forum – really good ‘how to’ blog for use in blogging! Could be used with older students, or I was thinking of running training sessions for staff in September, so would be useful for that too.

I originally typed and printed an instruction sheet for students to use, which I still think is good – people like something concrete – but I then added the sections as individual pages on the blogs, so students could navigate to the relevant section as required. Wish I’d done that from the start as think it would have helped students get used to navigating round and using the main blog.

A very useful site – thanks! Although I thought your instructions on your blog for your pupils were really clear too.
Hope you are enjoying the holidays!

Thanks for the feedback on my instructions – I might use an adapted version for staff. In fact, I’m thinking of setting up my own ‘blog training’ blog for staff at my school to use as they start blogging. Do you think that would work?
I’ve added another one above – I assume the owner linked to mine after I posted it on the edublogs forums – they have a section for sharing what you’re doing with blogs in your classroom. You should add yours there too!
I am enjoying the holidays – hope you are too!

I appreciate your post–and I enjoyed looking at your blogs–the thing I’m wondering for my own is how to set up the student blogs and to have them listed on my blog–like yours are…the only posts I’m finding say you have to use some gmail account….our school blocks all e-mail programs. Also I have 180 students–I don’t want to have to enter them all myself. Did you have to? Thanks!
