Thank you for a very interesting session at the CLC, I've come away with plenty of ideas for ways to use blogs more effectively than I have been doing. I'm quite excited and am almost, only almost, impatient for September to roll around so I can start putting things into place properly.

Just a suggestion - why not set a deadline for the comments and then moderate them at the deadlin. This means that the students won't get a chance to see the others comments until the lesson. Those students who miss the dealine will be revealed!!!!!.

I appreciate your post--and I enjoyed looking at your blogs--the thing I'm wondering for my own is how to set up the student blogs and to have them listed on my blog--like yours are...the only posts I'm finding say you have to use some gmail account....our school blocks all e-mail programs. Also I have 180 students--I don't want to have to enter them all myself. Did you have to? Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback on my instructions - I might use an adapted version for staff. In fact, I'm thinking of setting up my own 'blog training' blog for staff at my school to use as they start blogging. Do you think that would work?

I've added another one above - I assume the owner linked to mine after I posted it on the edublogs forums - they have a section for sharing what you're doing with blogs in your classroom. You should add yours there too!

I am enjoying the holidays - hope you are too!

A very useful site - thanks! Although I thought your instructions on your blog for your pupils were really clear too.

Hope you are enjoying the holidays!

It's great to read about your blogging experiences. It will be interesting to see the pupils develop their work over the holidays. Is it okay for us to comment on their blogs too? I was very impressed with some of the early work on the Gothic blogs. Keep up that great work!

What a great blog post. It's very detailed, and reflective. I agree with you on the Visualisers ... there are some great things they can do, especially for science and D&T teachers, but for subjects that tend to be more (although not exclusively!) text-based, the smaller ones seem to have the capabilities that we need, for example for supporting AfL.

I have to say that I also liked the bookworm blog you have linked to above. I am linking it to my new blog, which will be launched at school in September (!!!) - Theology and Imagination, a blog where teachers, students and visitors to the site can discuss the ethical, moral, religious and theological overtones, themes, insights etc found in books, films, TV programmes, artworks and any other creative medium that you can think of. I am in the process of setting up the layout etc, which should contain links to other relevant websites and blogs. Having a few teething problems with the blogroll, though, which is puzzling me, because my blogroll works fine elsewhere! Strange.

As for pieces of paper, perhaps all will become clearer tomorrow - after all, Ruth will be there, and she loves giving us things! See you then!

What happened with the DivShare? Did you manage to find a key number or whatever it is that it wants?

I have a horrible feeling that you may have to go through all the posts and edit each one manually. I know there is an easier way to do it in Blogger, but I'm not sure about here ...

Or are you referring to the blogroll? The main thing with blogroll is that you have to remember to add a category to each blog link that you are making.

Hope some of that helps somehow!
